*BLOGtober 18th* My current go-to highlighter ✨The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer✨

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter

There´s is sooo many new DELICIOUS, if I am allowed to use that word, highlighters on the market right now - Hourglass, CT, Anastasia Beverly Hills just to mention a few - and I want them all. I am almost drooling just thinking about them.

BUT.. as I am currently one extreme case of a poor student, that is not something I am able to splurge in just now. Those days are sadly over for a few years I guess..😅
Anyone else feeling me?

I might not have all the highlighters that I want, but I do have this one.
And it´s an oldie, but a goodie! The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter ✨

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter Swatch

It gives such a beautiful glow to my skin and it fits my complexion just right.
It´s not too pink and it´s not too golden. If I have a tan it looks even better.

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter Swatch

I should definitely put up a nice dewy MOTD using this highlighter, and it´s in my plans doing so!
It´s just that I haven´t been wearing too much makeup lately as I´ve been drowning myself in studies...😜 Blog has not been prioritized..😞

What is your current highlighter favorite?

*BLOGTOBER 17th* Favorite Dry Shampoo I´ve been loving lately💕

Batiste Dry Shampoo Eden Sugar Melon & Honeysuckle

Today I just wanted to quickly share what kind of dry shampoo I´ve been loving lately.

Batiste is my favorite drugstore brand when it comes to dry shampoos. It´s the first time I´m trying this edition "Eden Sugar Melon & Honeysuckle" - and it smells wonderful!
My ALL TIME favorite is the one that smells like cherry, ah-mazing 😍

This really leaves my hair smelling fresh even though it´s been a couple of days since my last hair wash. By now we all should know washing your hair every day is a no-no.. Right? Right! 😉

It does the same job as all the other Batiste dry shampoos, and if you like sugary, sweet, but fresh scents, this is definitely one you should pick up next time you´re on the hunt for a new dry shampoo!

What dry shampoo have you been loving lately?

*BLOGtober 6th* Fall Fragrance - GUESS Seductive💕

GUESS Seductive Perfume

Guess Seductive - Eau de Toilette 50ml €55

I´ve asked at least three different persons what kind of perfume they´re wearing because they smell freaking amazing, and every time they´ve answered Guess Seductive. So my mind have been set on getting this perfume for a while. Of course they decided to stop selling them in store, so it made it quite difficult to find it - but eventually I found it, relatively affordable, online😊

Top notes:
Bergamot, black currant and pear.
Middle notes:
Jasmine, african orange flower and orris root.
Base notes:
Vanilla, olibanum and cashmere wood.

I love jasmine and vanilla, although I can´t really sense much jasmine on my skin with this fragrance. Maybe a tiny hint of vanilla, but not as much as I´d prefer.
The longevity is not "wow" to me, but then again I feel it is slightly heavy so I´d rather reapply throughout the day than feel sick of it after five minutes (I often react to strong scents, especially perfume, if I am not careful).
It does leave a really nice scent to all my clothes and scarves, which I like!

To me this is a warm, sensual scent. A little sexy as well perhaps. For me it is a perfect fragrance for fall. It is a deeper fragrance, but still fresh.

I usually get dissapointed when wearing perfume, as I think it smells so different on me than I would like it do do. I have yet to find that perfect one. That perfume that goes perfect with my body chemistry and skin. I usually wear clean vanilla sprays, alone or combined with something sweet coconut or a coconut/vanilla (Victorias´s Secret Coconut Passion omg) spray/bodylotion.
During summer I also love wearing jasmine, especially the jasmine oils/scents you can buy on the streets in Thailand💕
I also love Amber Romance from Victoria´s Secret, which is a warm, creamy, deep vanilla fragrance.

Last Christmas I bought Dior J´adore and sometimes combined it with some extra Jasmine, it is perfect! Again, I wish it did smell even better on me than I think it does.
Another example on my perfume struggles, I had a couple of years where Davidoff Cool Water Ice Fresh was freaking amazing on my skin, I SMELLED SO GOOD! But now.. I can´t wear it anymore as it simply doesn´t smell good on me. It´s lovely in the bottle, but it doesn´t work as soon as I put it on my skin.
Why is this? Is it my nose that changes or is it my body/skin?😅

I usually like Hugo Boss perfumes, I remember I had the Hugo XX (also has jasmine and amber in it) for a while and I got so many compliments! I might have to get that one again, too..😊

What are your favorite fragrance for Fall?
Do you have any recommendations for me? 😊

*BLOGtober 5th* Does it work? St. Tropez In Shower Gradual Tanning Lotion *Product Review*

St. Tropez In Shower Tan

I am not going to make this a very long review, because the only thing we actually want to know about this product is - DOES IT REALLY WORK?!

And yes, yes it does! It does work, but remember this is a GRADUAL tanning lotion and it does leave you with (just) a HINT of color. It is nothing like, let´s say, St. Tropez Express, but it is a wonderful product to maintain your tan! Or if you just simply want that hint of color. A hint of color is better than no color if you ask me!

It does give a nice color that looks very natural and it has been added to my shower routine!
(even though I forgot it today and now I regret it as I am ghostly white)

St. Tropez In Shower Gradual Tanning Lotion

It is super simple to use, you basically do you normal routine with soap and everything and then you apply the tanning lotion as the last thing before you finish your shower. The lotion is rich and creamy and doesn´t drip while you wait for it work it´s wonders. The boring part is waiting 3 minutes, which doesn´t really seem that long in self-tanner-world, but in the shower 3 minutes is a long time! But let´s not actually complain about 3 minutes you guys. That´s nothing in self-tanner-world.

You then rinse it off and get out of the shower. It doesn´t have any immediate effects, but after a few hours or the next day you can clearly see a difference! I have never experienced any streaks, I have however experienced some build-up on the regular spots, my biggest problem areas are my chest area and my hands. It simply won´t stick too long without looking bad. Natural causes though! I´m constantly washing my hands and I tend to get quite warm around the chest area.

It doesn´t have that extreme self-tanning scent to it either! It doesn´t smell like nice perfume, but it doesn´t really leave a lot of scent at all. Which is A HUGE PLUS!

St. Tropez In Shower Gradual Tanning Lotion

Loving the design, it is qute and the tube works well in the shower.
I really do love this product actually! If you have thought about trying it, go ahead and do it! If you´re as obsessed about having a nice tan as I am, you will not regret it.

Have you tried this and if so, what did you think of it?

*BLOGtober 4th* L´oreal Paris Super Liner Superstar Eye Liner

Loreal Paris Super Liner Superstar Eye Liner Review

I was in need of a new eye liner and it was completely random that I ended up with this one. I thought the design was cute, it was relatively new and it had a felt tip. Sold.

I was a bit suprised when I opened it because it has this fun, tear-drop shaped innovative tip! The nib is completely flexible and makes the application very easy. It holds a ton of produt and it is very pigmented. It dries to a matte finish, it is however quite watery and is not waterproof at all. I find this quite positive though, as I like my eyeliner to be removed easily when washing my face at night.. I hate having to rub and use tons of products around my eyes to remove it (tip: coconut oil makes everything easier!).

It´s almost effortless to create a wing and the fun part with this, under light pressure the tip completely bends and makes it super easy to just follow the contours of the eye to make a nice wing. The product flows nicely without any mess and you can make it as thin or as thick as you want it.

*BLOGtober 3rd* Holika Holika Sweet Cotton Sebum Clear Powder Mist *Product Review*

Holika Holika Sweet Cotton Facial Mist

Hi all!

Today I thought I´d share with you one of my favorite Korean Cosmetic products!
Do you use any Korean brands?

This is a facial mist that has powder in it to control shine, help to take care of skin and keep the skin moist throughout the day. Sweet Cotton is a series of different products and it´s supposed to smell like cotton candy, I don´t think it does. But it does smell quite fresh and soothing.

During these cold months it´s good to lock in my makeup with something that feels replenishing on my dehydrated skin and gives a silky, lightweight finish. I don´t think it gives me the moisture that I need, but it feels nice when I apply it :)
It´s non -sticky, which is great, and is supposed to create a sweat proof, non-smudging coat over your face, it sounds like a miracle product, and I don´t think it is THAT amazing, but it really gives me what I need in terms of giving me a MATTE look and keeping my makeup somewhat in place during the day.

I´m a huge fan of the NYX facial mists, have you tried them?
I think this one keeps me matte longer during the day, I tend to get a bit shiny with the NYX spray!

The spray itself looks milky in the bottle, but it comes out transparent and doesn´t leave any white residue. As you can see in the picture all the powder is laying at the bottom of the bottle - it´s very important that you make sure to shake well before applying😊

This is not my all time favorite setting spray, but it does a really good job, and it is very affordable.

What is your favorite matte setting spray? Let me know in the comments below😊

*BLOGtober 2nd* Maybelline Brow Satin Filling Powder Duo *Review & Swatches*

Maybelline Brow Satin
Maybelline Brow Satin Review

I've been a Anastasia Brow Wiz addict for a long time now and it's a constant repurchase of mine. Recently my local drugstore stopped carrying it and my only options is to either drive for 30-40 minutes to buy it in another store or order it online and get it after a week of waiting. I don't prefer any of those options as I am a person who lives in the moment. If I want or need something, I want it right now.
I could be super organized and go buy new makeup before I actually run out of it, I mean you normally see when your powder or foundation is almost finished and when the brow pen is 1 mm short.. but no, I´m that kind of person who pray to God while drawing my brows with that empty brow pen just hoping it will last me that ONE LAST TIME. And then I have to go get a new one.

I´ve been searching for a good dupe for the Anastasia Brow Wiz, first of all I love a good dupe, and second it would be awesome to have a cheaper alternative!
NYX came out with their "Micro Brow Pen", which is supposed to be a good dupe, but I need to order that one online, and you know how I feel about that if I want it right now😅

And then I found this! I´m not quite sure it is a good dupe, but it is certainly a good alternative!

Maybelline Brow Satin Filling Powder Duo has a retractable fine tip pencil in the one end and a self loading powder sponge applicator in the other. It´s unlike anything I've seen before and its one of the reasons why it attracted me amongst the regular brow pens.

I liked the similarities to Anastasia´s Brow Wiz as of the fine retractable tip, and the possibilities of fading and blending with the sponge application. I didn´t understand until after a few times of use that it is actually a self loading powder sponge, my first thoughts was that it was simply for fading/blending.

Maybelline Brow Satin Swatch
Maybelline Brow Satin Fine Tip
Maybelline Brow Satin Sponge Applicator

I think it does a wonderful job on filling in my brows and it makes application quick. It has a dry matte finish and the powder is not too pigmented - so it´s hard to overdo. It also has no powder fall out, which is a huge plus in my book! That would be way to messy for my taste😂

The sponge does not work for me in the case of fading/blending for a ombre look, so I still use my Anastasia spoolie to do that.

I got the color that I though would match my "brunette" the best, medium brown - it is a soft neutral brown and is actually perfect for me!

My only con (and it´s a huge one) on this so far is the lasting power... Compared to Brow Wiz, it simply does not last as long. Especially not on the tail of my brows, which is the most crucial points on my brows.

I simply CANNOT go around worrying about my brows during ANY God given day or night.
"Are my brows in place?" "HAVE THEY FADED?" "Are my BROWS SMUDGED?!" "Oh Lord be with me please tell me my brows are OK" I cannot do that, I am not blessed with full natural brows and I need my brow pens to do that for me. And when it´s done, it´s done, I´m not supposed to question if my brows are still pretty or not.
It´s usually not a problem for me, but I felt a little of this concern while wearing Maybelline Brow Satin. I will give it a few more chances, just because I liked it so much!

Have you tried this Brow product? What are your thoughts on it?
Leave me a comment down below and let me know😘

St. Tropez Express Tanning Mousse

As some of us has already lost everything that can remind us the slightest of summer - I thought I´d share my favorite tanning product. It´s simply the best self tanner I know!

To keep us tanned through fall!

I am absolutely loving this mousse, it develops quickly so you can actually shower it off after 1, 2 or 3 hours - all depending on how deep color you want. You don´t come out of the shower looking like a oompa loompa as it continues to work and develop for at least 8 hrs. So if you apply during the day and shower during the day, it won´t give you the finished color until the next morning.
I find this both positive and negative, negative because it would be even better to get the finished color right away. Positive because I can shower off that nasty self tanning smell after as little as 1 hr!

St. Tropez Express Tanning Mousse

It gives such a beautiful tan. Apply with a tanning mitt and you won´t have a single streak or uneven patch.

It does smells amazing, but unfortunately it still has that nasty self tanner smell to it after applied to the skin... Does everyone struggle with this? Is it just me or can everyone smell it? Haha!

What is your favorite type/brand of self tanner?

How to treat your chemically damaged hair - Joicko K-PAK

As a hairdresser at heart I love recommending products for your hair!
I really love this shampoo and conditioner, it smells amazing and makes my hair amazing.
If your hair is damaged from let´s say bleaching and heat tools - you should try this :)

Came in this handy bag! Nice for traveling!!

Came in this handy bag! Nice for traveling!!

Joico K-Pak Shampoo and Conditioner

This shampoo and conditioner doesn't weigh your hair down, so it fits those of us with fine hair. It also has a nice rich and creamy formula, which also makes is perfect for thicker and coarser hair!
It is supposed to repair damage, and they claim to go straight to the damaged cuticle filling in lost amino-acids, restoring the elasticity, strength and shine of the hair.

Joico K-Pak Shampoo and Conditioner

Besides Redken, Joico is one of my favorite brands!

If you are looking for a good quality shampoo/conditioner for your damaged hair, I would definitely give this a try :) It locks in moisture as well as reconstructing your damaged hair and split ends!
Combine with a good reconstructing mask about every fourth hair wash, and maybe the "split end mender" from Joico and you are off to a good start towards healthy hair!

Have you tried this?

If you have a hair care routine post on your blog I´d love to see it! :) xx

NOTD - OPI Silent Stars Go By

"Silent Stars go by" a light pink metallic liquid sand texture polish and is from the Mariah Carey 2013 Holiday collection =)

This is a joy to apply, it has a wider (exclusive ProWide) brush than many of the other OPI polishes and it is just SO much easier. I don't know why not all nail polishes has a wider brush??

Really loving this polish! I´ve become a huge fan of the liquid sand texture...=)

What does your manicure look like this week?

Favorite High-End Highlight & Contour Products

I want to share my current favorite "high-end" products that I use for my highlight & contour routine.

Usually I mix both high-end and drugstore products for my everyday makeup.

My top pick would be the NARS concealer. This is the one that gives me the brightest look and covers my under eye, nose bridge etc. the best.

Dior and Smashbox gives more of a sheer finish and is more suitable for the days I don´t wear as much makeup and just want something "natural".

I really love the Anastasia Beverly Hills highlight and contour kit! I use it all the time. It has both cool and warm tones, and even a shimmer for a nice dewy highlight.

NARS Laguna bronzer is a staple in my makeup collection and the NARS light reflecting setting powder is amazing. For extra bright under eye area I would bake with a lighter non-translucent powder first =)

Do you have any of these products?
What are YOUR favorite high-end highlight/contour products?

Max Factor Colour Elixir Pristine Nude Lipgloss

I love this collection of glosses, they´re beautiful and very comfortable to wear.
They come in, I think, 9 different shades and claim to spare us from that gloss-stickiness! Which is fine by me, as I said - it´s so comfortable to wear so I think that´s spot on!

I absolutely love the packaging, it´s simple yet elegant and the lasting power of the gloss is pretty good too! As it feels more like a heavy balm than a gloss, it kind of just fades away unnoticeable.. I don´t get that OMG I NEED TO REAPPLY MY GLOSS or any cracked lips or whatever.. They just look natural and healthy moist when it fades away =)

The only con is that I feel they get a slight "bad smell" to them after a short while, but right out of the tube it has a nice "creamy" scent to it..

Max Factor Colour Elixir Pristine Nude Lipgloss

"Pristine Nude" is a delicate color by itself, but it really spices up your nude lip if you already have a coat of nude lipstick/lipliner on!

I will definitely be getting more colors from this collection, I can´t wait =D

Have you tried any of these Max Factor glosses?
Do you have a favorite shade?

Mac Faux Lipstick

Oh Faux how I love you! One of my new favorite lipsticks!

I absolutely adore this color!

My sister have been using this for quite some time, and one day I tried it - I fell in love instantly.

Makeup Haul

1. Smashbox Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Primer.

Still trying this one out and before I say anything super positive about it I would like to test it and see if it really is as good as everyone raving on about! First impression is quite good though!
It has the same color and texture as Benefit POREfessional, if that tells you anything. I´m a super fan of that primer so that is definitely a plus!
Will do a review on this later if that is wanted? =)

2. Lancome Color Ideal Precise Match Skin Perfecting Make-up, Foundation #3.

As summer is approaching my skin is acting up in all different kinds of ways and it seems it have different needs every day. With means I am in need of different coverage, formula, color, texture, every day. One foundation is simply not enough for me.
This was half of the original price, they had my color and I though it was a great (and cheap) way to try out yet another foundation.
It did not disappoint at all and I really, really, really like it!
Light, but gives enough coverage, nice color, evens out, not too dry or dewy.
Have you tried this foundation?

3. Smashbox Full Exposure *travel size* Eyeshadow Palette.

I´ve been wanting this palette for ages, but I never justified getting it.
Apparently all it took was it to be "travel size" and then it was okay. And that it was on sale.
The palette is very pretty and it is perfect for summer and holiday. It is small and takes up minimal space. And that IS a really good argument for getting it, if you look away from the fact that I will be bringing this small, cute, practical and perfect palette ALONG with I guess at least two other normal sized ones.... So the point is sadly not there for me.. BUT is has some beautiful shades and I would love to do a swatch for you :)

4. Guerlain Terracotta Kohl Loose Powder #Noir

This is an old favorite of mine. I´ve had this for years, but one day the application tool broke inside the bottle and it was impossible to use (still with a lot of product inside). I never purchased a new one because of the simple fact, it is pretty expensive, but this one was at least 50% off so I just had to get it :D

It is easy to use and it last for hours. the "wand" makes it easy to create a "cat eye" and the packaging is simply gorgeous.

I love haul posts, so if you´ve done any purchases recently please leave your links and I will have a look!

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer *Pore Minimizing*

Finally got my hands on this!

Smashbox Pore Minimizing Primer

I have purchased almost all of the primers from Smashbox and I really like them!

This one has a cute lavender shade and the design it self is kinda cute with the dots and all.

Smashbox Pore Minimizing Primer Swatch

Right out of the tube it has a thick, silicone feel, formula. I´m going to make a reference to Benefits POREfessional, if you know that one, it´s pretty similar in both texture and color. Smashbox is probably even more on the heavy side as it can leave a white residue if you don´t blend it out well enough. I have not experienced this with Benefits POREfessional.

But I might have applied a bit too much product.

It blends out lines pretty well, and for the pores it does fill them in and blur the skin.

As my expectations are SKYHIGH, this is not a miracle product. BUT CLOSE!

Smashbox Pore Minimizing Primer Before & After

I can see a clear difference, it gives a matte finish and it does blur out the worst of the pores!

I have not edited this at all, exept setting the sharpness higher. I´m really pleased with the result, and have to say it´s showing good on camera!

This is very up close, so the blurring effect will be even more noticeable when you see it from a far.

I will definitely say this is worth a try, if you´re struggling with large pores as I do - this is a quick fix! I´ve started using some new korean skincare lately and hopefully these will help reducing the appearance of my pores as well =)

What are you favorite pore minimizing primers?

Mac Blankety Lipstick

Mac Blankety is a delicate pigmented lipstick with an amplified finish.

It´s creamy and has a nice pinky beige nude shade, one swipe is all you need. It´s definitely one of my must-have nudes from Mac!

Looks gorgeous with a darker lipliner :)

New in! GHD V Classic Hair Straightener Kit

I was in need for a new hair straightener as my old one decided to die on me. It was a super sad day when it went away because the straightener that I had was simply amazing, it even had real swarovski crystals on it and it was a dream to use.

There´s nothing like a good quality hair straightener so I was super happy when I came across this offer. This kit has the same price as the straightener alone!

I love GHD straighteners and it is so much better for my hair than the cheap ones you can get everywhere... This is serious! There is a clear difference.
What do you think?

GHD V Gold Classic Styler
GHD V Gold Classic Styler

I got the classic styler, paddle brush (sooo pretty!), two sectioning clips and a bottle of heat protectant.
I´ve tried the heat protectant a few times, but I don´t really know what to say about it yet.. I don´t think I´m a huge fan.

It smells a little like male perfume and my hair does not get soft at all... It might be the fine texture of my hair, just not making it suitable for me.

The paddle brush is super nice and so good. Heat protectant or not, it was a pretty good deal!

The classic gold styler is suitable for all types of hair and lengths, which is nice for me because of my super thin/fine short natural hair, and for when I wear thick long extensions :)

It heats up in a matter of seconds, ready to use! You can´t choose how high or low you want the temperature, and that might be a con if you need to protect your hair a bit extra. I feel that is the only thing that annoys me with this.

My hair is very damaged at the moment and I feel every time I use the heat styler I damage my hair more because of the high heat. I try to be careful with heat tools in general, but in the end it is not that simple to stay away! I am currently treating my hair with a lot of proteins and trying to not straighten my hair too often.

What type/brand of hair straightener do you use/is your favorite?

Makeup Haul *Anastasia Beverly Hills, Bare Minerals & Mac*

A new foundation and concealer to test out! A couple of new lipsticks, a new lipgloss, repurchase of my holy grail brow wiz and a new exciting pomade for the brows =D
