#BLOGtober 8th - My favorite TV-shows for fall

I am the biggest TV-show geek. I love a good TV-show and I have a really hard time when just picking out a few of my favorites.

I made it easier to choose by choosing shows after a "fall theme", which means what shows do I like watching during fall, what shows do I think about during fall, what shows get me in the right fall-state-of-mind and so on.

Let´s start off with something light

The Real Housewives of New Jersey

Yes, I am a Real Housewife fan. I love them all, especially OC and NJ - New Jersey ruling on the top.
I love the drama, I love their big houses, I love their accent, and it´s always Christmas or Fall over there. At least it seems that way;)
This is my guilty pleasure and my way of relaxing. I watch it on my laptop with earplugs and my hubby and kid can watch whatever they want on the TV and I don´t care;)

Another guilty pleasure of mine is the show below:

Mob Wives

mob wives

Mob Wives, similar drama/realityshow as TRH - just the way I like it!
These are women, wives, exes, sisters, cousins, aunts, even widows (you get the idea) of men connected to the mob ("according to the federal government").
It seems trashy at first, but as you get into it, you can´t stop even if you wanted to;)
And they always have the shiniest hair! What I would do for those Italian genes..
RIP to the hilarious Big Ang.

Ah Nashville, what can I say? If you´re a girl, or if you like catchy country songs (or not, it doesn´t matter) you really should have a look at this show! It is simply amazing.
Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere are two of my favorite actresses, I mean have you ever seen anything with them in it before? Love!
It has drama, it has good music, it makes me laugh, it makes me cry - hell, even sing!
Just notice how hilarious (and honest and talented) Ms. Panettiere (I mean Mrs. Klitschko) is.
It is the perfect show for cozy autumn evenings <3

This show makes me think back at another, old favorite! Where I first started to love Connie Britton:

Friday Night Lights

Friday Night Lights

Football is everything in Dillon, Texas and you should know I love a good American cliche like that.
Is it just me or does Fall in Texas look really nice?!
Connie Britton is amazing in this show and one of the reasons why I discovered Nashville.
This was a Fall show that aired from 2006-2011 and I will never forget it. I advise you to check it out if you haven´t seen it.

While we are down south let me mention this:

True Blood

True Blood

True Blood became an instant favorite of mine when it first started airing back in 2008. I was (still am) seriously fangirling over this show. It has simply everything, and a little more.
I mean; vampires, southern accents, hhhhot guys, humor, drama, and did I mention vampires and hot guys? COME ON.
This show is perfect to watch during Fall - get to it <3

Over to something completely different (but still in the south):

The Client List

The Client List

The Client List was a two season show that only survived a short year from 2012 to 2013. It was cancelled after the second season and left us all on the biggest cliffhanger in time.
I´ll copy paste the plot for you guys as it is too good:

"Samantha Horton a former Texas beauty queen and mother of three kids - struggles with financial difficulties and the threat of foreclosure on her home, after she loses her job and her former Texas football star husband loses his construction job due to a nagging knee injury. Sam desperately starts looking for a job and when she applies for one at a massage parlor, she discovers the masseuses who work there are actually prostitutes serving prominent members of society."

Also in the plot: runaway husband, new flame, a tiny little drug addiction, pregnant - you know, all the good stuff..;)

Such a shame that it was cancelled because I truly LOVED that show. I discovered it while browsing different shows to check out, and just randomly started watching it. It took me about a few minutes before I was hooked.
Kinda torn whether to recommend this or not, I mean, you should definitely watch it, but it HURTS so bad when it finishes after the second season:(

Aaaand we´re back to my favorite American Italian accent again:)

Laura in the Kitchen

Laura VItale - Laura in the Kitchen

Laura Vitale is a self-taught home-cook, she started off on YouTube and I think she now has her own cooking show on the Cooking Channel?
She is cute as a button and I always watch her Pumpkin Spice recipes during Fall!
You should too: Laura in the Kitchen

This is a heavy turnaround, I mean from happy cute recipes to X-Files:

The X-Files

The X-Files

Maybe one of my all time favorite shows EVER. I will never get tired of this.
It shouldn´t need any further explanation.
It is the ultimate Fall show and I´ve watched the episodes over and over again.
Have you checked out the new season?

Being such a huge X-Files fan led me to this show:

Fringe Tv Show

It´s nothing like the X-Files, but in some way it is I guess.
I love the actors and it is simply a really good show, making your head spin a little bit sometimes:)
I´ve saved the last season for years now, I don´t want it to end. I am kinda weird like that..

When we´re talking about all time favorites I should probably mention:

Sons of Anarchy

This show will forever be in my heart. Such a huge fan. Words cannot describe how much I love this show. I cried a little bit when it ended and I watched it several times since then. Nothing will ever compare. Kurt Sutter is a TV-show God. Perfect for dark, warm, fall evenings. I´m out.

There are so many shows to choose from (I already added 3 or 4 to my original list as I was writing..I´m hopeless..)
Hope you found some new inspiration if you´re looking for new shows to watch this Fall.

Are you a TV-show geek like me?
I would love to hear your favorites, so please share them with me!

#BLOGtober 7th - Soap & Glory Multi-Color Blush Bricks "Love at First Blush" & "Peach Party"

Soap & Glory Multi-Colour Blush Brick

Soap & Glory Shimmer Powders "Peach Party" and "Love at first Blush":

These two have been my go-to shimmer blushes all summer!
I might have reached for "Peach Party" a little more as I like the peachy golden/bronzy color more than the pink but both are definitely favorites of mine.

The Soap & Glory blushes are multi-colored shimmer powders, they´re shaped like a wheel which gives me an instant thought of the "Smashbox Fusion Soft Lights" (anyone else?).
However, I will say that Soap & Glory Peach Party and Love at first Blush contains a lot more shimmer, more like the "Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks" (just to make another dupe hint).

They are both smooth in formula and gives a nice color/shimmer payoff.
I love the color it gives when it´s mixed but I also tend to use each color alone a lot.
For example, to highlight my brow bone, down my nose, my cupid's bow. I even use this on my lips with either an oil base or a lipgloss on top.

A lot of the colors are nice as a shimmer base for eye makeup, and also to make your cheekbones pop.

Definitely a budget friendly shimmer product to check out!

#BLOGtober 6th - Gerard Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipstick in *Serenity* Swatches and photos

Gerard Cosmetics Long Wear Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Serenity

The first Gerard Cosmetics product I´m going to show you is the Long Wear Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick in the color "Serenity".

I love these types of formulas and did not get disappointed.
If you have tried liquid lipsticks from either Lime Crime or Kylie Jenner - the formula is pretty much the same.

It is easy to apply, it doesn´t feel sticky, heavy or dry on the lips. It lasts for hours and it has a nice hint of a sweet scent to it.

The color is a perfect fall color, still, I have yet to love it on myself.
I´ve seen so many pictures and swatches of it where it looks beautiful - I just didn´t get that same feeling when wearing myself.

It´s a shame really as it is such a wonderful matte liquid lipstick!

I will definitely try wearing it more during fall and perhaps check some of the other colors out. Again, the formula is amazing and I think the price tag is fine as well.

Have you tried this or do you want to?
What did you think of it?

#BLOGtober 3rd [NEW IN] Blouses

A purchase from when I started school again after summer. There´s always a need for nice shirts and blouses to wear to school. I need options! It´s hard to make an effort to dress nicely when you get up at 4:30am - all I want to wear are hoodies and sweatpants.

This is really cute and makes a casual outfit look more dressed up right away.

Shortsleeve blouse, gives a more formal look and especially if paired with a blazer.

Kind of Indian, kind of hippie inspired flared longsleeve shirt. Can´t wait to wear this with some nice boots!

These shirts can easily be worn with basic jeans or a pair of black pants, a blazer or just a nice fall jacket. It doesn´t take me a lot of effort in the morning and it looks representable :)

I said I need options, but I can´t have too many and even though I plan my outfits the night before - I will probably end up changing 3 or 4 times before I´m satisfied. I´m hopeless with clothes:) What about you?

#BLOGtober 2nd - bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream in Buttercream

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue

I´ve had this tinted cream for a few months now, but it´s not until recently that I kind of "rediscovered" it.

bareMinerals is a brand that I´ve been using ever since it started selling their famous mineral powders, I´ve always liked their products and I´m always curious when they launch new ones.

This cream caught my eyes immediately and even though the price tag sat me off QUITE a bit, I knew I had to get it.

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue

I rarely get the color right when I swatch foundation products in stores.
Even with the help from the ones that work there, getting a return if the color doesn´t match when you get home, is not normal where I live.
I´ve lost count on how many bottles of wrong colored foundations I have in my collection.
But if I´m ever going for either the Oompa-Loompa or the geisha look - I´ve got it covered!

I ended up with the color "03 Buttercream", which blended perfectly with my skin tone in-store.
When I got home I was very frustrated and disappointed the first weeks as it does make me look a little pale, and even though it evens out my skin tone it does not cover my red spots.

It does not look good on blemishes at all, it makes them look more inflamed and I don´t feel using a lot of concealer with this tinted cream goes well together.

It is buildable to some point but does not have a lot of coverage.
On the other hand, it does have a very light feel and it makes me feel like I don´t wear any makeup - which is a good feeling!

It doesn´t oxidize which is good, I´ve had a few creams/foundations that do this and it is beyond annoying!

It definitely gives me a natural, fresh and dewy look. Not to mention a glowing look! Which is probably the best feature in my opinion.

It defintely feels a little sticky and it needs to be set with some kind of powder.

Oh how I wish I had that type of skin that could pull off using JUST this as an everyday foundation.

I believe this is the perfect base for those with perfect skin, with no red spots or scars that you want to cover.

I tried covering the red spots with bareMinerals concealer, but it does not mix well with the gel cream and it just did not look very good.
It made me look patchy and it kind of ruined the whole "fresh-faced-no-makeup-makeup-look".

A lot of people with dry skin are complaining about it, so perhaps this isn´t the greatest option for you.

I´m not sure where to land on this product! I can´t say for sure that I will be repurchasing it, but I will give it another go during this fall and see how it works out for me :)

#BLOGtober 1st - Fall 2016 challenge

We´ve been blessed with the most amazing autumn weather this past month and I just feel so happy and motivated!
I´m buried in studies and I haven´t been able to enjoy it too much but I still love this time of the year.

I started the weekend off by cleaning the house and prepared for a family birthday party on Sunday.
On Saturday we went to a climbing activity park with different trails and zip lines.
That was SO much fun! I love spending time with my boys and it was such a perfect activity for the all three of us. We will definitely be going back there.

I plan on doing #BLOGtober this year, please let me know if you´re doing it too! I´d love to follow you :)

*BLOGtober 29th* 4 Warm MAC Eyeshadows for Fall

Mac Quad Fall Eyeshadows

Hi! I thought I would have plenty of time for my blog, but life and school has been quite busy lately. I don´t go to school every day, but I have been really good at prioritizing school work instead of blogging at home😅 Finals are coming up, and I guess I won´t be as active on here until those are finished. Wish me luck!😄

Today I thought I would share with you four eyeshadows that I really love during fall🍁🍂😊

They are all from MAC and of course this is just a small selection of my favorites (any beauty addict will know this struggle)..😅 I decided to share this one as it looks nice put together, I use them mostly with other either darker shades or more lighter, neutrals for a more toned down look.

The colors are: 1. Cranberry, 2. Tempting, 3. I can´t remember the name of this!😡 and 4. Satin Taupe.

I am still in love with Cranberry, but I also still struggle making it work for me. I love the color, but it just doesn´t look right on me! It´is sad, but it´s still one of my favorites...😞😊
I don´t remember the name of nr. 3 right now, and the name on the back is gone. I got it before leaving for vacation some time ago. I wanted something natural for a bronzy, summery look. I love using this as a transition color. Looks absolutely amazing with my blue eyes! Still I do struggle with too warm and bronzy colors. It looks great with blue eyes, but I don´t always like the way it makes me look...

Here´s a beautiful swatch for you guys! Don´t they just scream fall??💕

Let me know it you would like to see a makeup look using these eyeshadows!

*BLOGtober 21st* Smokey or Neutral Eyes for Fall?🍁🍂 Smashbox Full Exposure Travelsize Eyeshadow Palette✨

Smashbox Full Exposure Travel eyeshadow Palette
Smashbox Full Exposure Travel Eyeshadow Palette

This Full Exposure Mini Palette comes with 8 shadows, 4 matte and 4 shimmer.

I´ve been wanting the full size palette for a while, but never managed to defend buying it😝
When I saw there was a mini palette I got it right away! It´s such a perfect size for a makeup bag and perfect to carry with me all the time. It simply doesn´t take any place!

Also it holds two (the darkest matte ones) shadows that I can easily use for my brows - so I have brows and eyes in the same little palette!

It has a nice shadow for highlighting as well and all in all it is perfect for both a natural and a darker smokey eye. I could easily go on vacation with JUST this palette - that should say a lot. I am the "going to bring 7 different palettes + 2 customized palettes for a week long vacation" kinda girl.. So yeah, it should say a lot! 😅

Do you have this palette, or the full size? What do you think of the Smashbox Eyeshadows?

It is not my holy grail palette, but I think it is a damn good one!

*BLOGtober 20th* BB Cream for Fall? Lancome Hydra Zen BB Cream

I bought this BB cream this summer and used it a lot when my skin was at it best (means: don´t need too much coverage).

As fall arrived and the air suddenly got crisp, harsh and cold - my skin broke out and I had a SERIOUS hard time coping with my life at this time (still do). It didn´t help that I catched a bad cold as well (wich always gives me breakouts) it lasted for several weeks and I hasn´t until now started to calm down. I still have acne coming out of nowhere and I do need to use self tan to even out my face colour so I am able to not wear a ton of makeup ALL THE FREAKING TIME just to be able to go outside the bedroom door. EVERY FALL/WINTER it´s the same😡

This is extremely damaging to my everyday life and my whole life right now evolves around treating my face, cleansing it right, not wear too much makeup, give it enough moisture YOU KNOW THE DRILL.

Then so to my point, THIS BB CREAM, holds a lot of moisture, and for the days that I don´t want to wear a full face with serious amounts of foundation - this is perfect. It gives me such a nice glowy base and with some powder or bronzer on top it kills the worst discoloration and evens out the best that it can.
It is slight too dark for me now as I am not tan at all anymore, but the darker the better coverage, so I just need to work on my tan so I can wear darker shades for my face😅

Have you tried this BB Cream? What do you think of it?

*BLOGtober 18th* My current go-to highlighter ✨The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer✨

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter

There´s is sooo many new DELICIOUS, if I am allowed to use that word, highlighters on the market right now - Hourglass, CT, Anastasia Beverly Hills just to mention a few - and I want them all. I am almost drooling just thinking about them.

BUT.. as I am currently one extreme case of a poor student, that is not something I am able to splurge in just now. Those days are sadly over for a few years I guess..😅
Anyone else feeling me?

I might not have all the highlighters that I want, but I do have this one.
And it´s an oldie, but a goodie! The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer highlighter ✨

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter Swatch

It gives such a beautiful glow to my skin and it fits my complexion just right.
It´s not too pink and it´s not too golden. If I have a tan it looks even better.

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter Swatch

I should definitely put up a nice dewy MOTD using this highlighter, and it´s in my plans doing so!
It´s just that I haven´t been wearing too much makeup lately as I´ve been drowning myself in studies...😜 Blog has not been prioritized..😞

What is your current highlighter favorite?

*BLOGtober 6th* Fall Fragrance - GUESS Seductive💕

GUESS Seductive Perfume

Guess Seductive - Eau de Toilette 50ml €55

I´ve asked at least three different persons what kind of perfume they´re wearing because they smell freaking amazing, and every time they´ve answered Guess Seductive. So my mind have been set on getting this perfume for a while. Of course they decided to stop selling them in store, so it made it quite difficult to find it - but eventually I found it, relatively affordable, online😊

Top notes:
Bergamot, black currant and pear.
Middle notes:
Jasmine, african orange flower and orris root.
Base notes:
Vanilla, olibanum and cashmere wood.

I love jasmine and vanilla, although I can´t really sense much jasmine on my skin with this fragrance. Maybe a tiny hint of vanilla, but not as much as I´d prefer.
The longevity is not "wow" to me, but then again I feel it is slightly heavy so I´d rather reapply throughout the day than feel sick of it after five minutes (I often react to strong scents, especially perfume, if I am not careful).
It does leave a really nice scent to all my clothes and scarves, which I like!

To me this is a warm, sensual scent. A little sexy as well perhaps. For me it is a perfect fragrance for fall. It is a deeper fragrance, but still fresh.

I usually get dissapointed when wearing perfume, as I think it smells so different on me than I would like it do do. I have yet to find that perfect one. That perfume that goes perfect with my body chemistry and skin. I usually wear clean vanilla sprays, alone or combined with something sweet coconut or a coconut/vanilla (Victorias´s Secret Coconut Passion omg) spray/bodylotion.
During summer I also love wearing jasmine, especially the jasmine oils/scents you can buy on the streets in Thailand💕
I also love Amber Romance from Victoria´s Secret, which is a warm, creamy, deep vanilla fragrance.

Last Christmas I bought Dior J´adore and sometimes combined it with some extra Jasmine, it is perfect! Again, I wish it did smell even better on me than I think it does.
Another example on my perfume struggles, I had a couple of years where Davidoff Cool Water Ice Fresh was freaking amazing on my skin, I SMELLED SO GOOD! But now.. I can´t wear it anymore as it simply doesn´t smell good on me. It´s lovely in the bottle, but it doesn´t work as soon as I put it on my skin.
Why is this? Is it my nose that changes or is it my body/skin?😅

I usually like Hugo Boss perfumes, I remember I had the Hugo XX (also has jasmine and amber in it) for a while and I got so many compliments! I might have to get that one again, too..😊

What are your favorite fragrance for Fall?
Do you have any recommendations for me? 😊

*BLOGtober 5th* Does it work? St. Tropez In Shower Gradual Tanning Lotion *Product Review*

St. Tropez In Shower Tan

I am not going to make this a very long review, because the only thing we actually want to know about this product is - DOES IT REALLY WORK?!

And yes, yes it does! It does work, but remember this is a GRADUAL tanning lotion and it does leave you with (just) a HINT of color. It is nothing like, let´s say, St. Tropez Express, but it is a wonderful product to maintain your tan! Or if you just simply want that hint of color. A hint of color is better than no color if you ask me!

It does give a nice color that looks very natural and it has been added to my shower routine!
(even though I forgot it today and now I regret it as I am ghostly white)

St. Tropez In Shower Gradual Tanning Lotion

It is super simple to use, you basically do you normal routine with soap and everything and then you apply the tanning lotion as the last thing before you finish your shower. The lotion is rich and creamy and doesn´t drip while you wait for it work it´s wonders. The boring part is waiting 3 minutes, which doesn´t really seem that long in self-tanner-world, but in the shower 3 minutes is a long time! But let´s not actually complain about 3 minutes you guys. That´s nothing in self-tanner-world.

You then rinse it off and get out of the shower. It doesn´t have any immediate effects, but after a few hours or the next day you can clearly see a difference! I have never experienced any streaks, I have however experienced some build-up on the regular spots, my biggest problem areas are my chest area and my hands. It simply won´t stick too long without looking bad. Natural causes though! I´m constantly washing my hands and I tend to get quite warm around the chest area.

It doesn´t have that extreme self-tanning scent to it either! It doesn´t smell like nice perfume, but it doesn´t really leave a lot of scent at all. Which is A HUGE PLUS!

St. Tropez In Shower Gradual Tanning Lotion

Loving the design, it is qute and the tube works well in the shower.
I really do love this product actually! If you have thought about trying it, go ahead and do it! If you´re as obsessed about having a nice tan as I am, you will not regret it.

Have you tried this and if so, what did you think of it?

*BLOGtober 4th* L´oreal Paris Super Liner Superstar Eye Liner

Loreal Paris Super Liner Superstar Eye Liner Review

I was in need of a new eye liner and it was completely random that I ended up with this one. I thought the design was cute, it was relatively new and it had a felt tip. Sold.

I was a bit suprised when I opened it because it has this fun, tear-drop shaped innovative tip! The nib is completely flexible and makes the application very easy. It holds a ton of produt and it is very pigmented. It dries to a matte finish, it is however quite watery and is not waterproof at all. I find this quite positive though, as I like my eyeliner to be removed easily when washing my face at night.. I hate having to rub and use tons of products around my eyes to remove it (tip: coconut oil makes everything easier!).

It´s almost effortless to create a wing and the fun part with this, under light pressure the tip completely bends and makes it super easy to just follow the contours of the eye to make a nice wing. The product flows nicely without any mess and you can make it as thin or as thick as you want it.

*BLOGtober 3rd* Holika Holika Sweet Cotton Sebum Clear Powder Mist *Product Review*

Holika Holika Sweet Cotton Facial Mist

Hi all!

Today I thought I´d share with you one of my favorite Korean Cosmetic products!
Do you use any Korean brands?

This is a facial mist that has powder in it to control shine, help to take care of skin and keep the skin moist throughout the day. Sweet Cotton is a series of different products and it´s supposed to smell like cotton candy, I don´t think it does. But it does smell quite fresh and soothing.

During these cold months it´s good to lock in my makeup with something that feels replenishing on my dehydrated skin and gives a silky, lightweight finish. I don´t think it gives me the moisture that I need, but it feels nice when I apply it :)
It´s non -sticky, which is great, and is supposed to create a sweat proof, non-smudging coat over your face, it sounds like a miracle product, and I don´t think it is THAT amazing, but it really gives me what I need in terms of giving me a MATTE look and keeping my makeup somewhat in place during the day.

I´m a huge fan of the NYX facial mists, have you tried them?
I think this one keeps me matte longer during the day, I tend to get a bit shiny with the NYX spray!

The spray itself looks milky in the bottle, but it comes out transparent and doesn´t leave any white residue. As you can see in the picture all the powder is laying at the bottom of the bottle - it´s very important that you make sure to shake well before applying😊

This is not my all time favorite setting spray, but it does a really good job, and it is very affordable.

What is your favorite matte setting spray? Let me know in the comments below😊
